Murder suspect is Patrick F. Dennehey, alias Patrick F. Guinney, who murdered George H. Favor.
There is an entire chapter on this murder in the 1889 Providence Police Department history, "Our Police: A History of the Providence Force from the First Watchman to the Latest Appointee" by Henry Mann.
Names on document include acting Mayor Amos W. Snow; Governor Seth Padelford; Chief of Police John M. Knowles.
Reverse of scrapbook page has a telegraph message from a City Marshal A. R. Wright (Fall River and New Bedford mentioned).
